90s fashion: look ideas

Fashion once again proves to us that everything is cyclical in this world. After bringing out the sequins and bell bottoms of the 70’s and the shoulder pads of the 80’s, it’s the turn of the 90’s lookbook to take its place on the catwalks.

A reminder of this period in fashion history, and advice for adopting 90s fashion to be trendy today.

90s lookbook: what were the key pieces?

The official uniform of the 90’s was Friends , The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Helen and the Boys and Beverly Hills . The era did not bother with half measures and the fashionistas of the 90s wore mini or maxi skirts, colorful dresses and colorful jewelry. Boys did not escape this “improbable patterns” trend either, and all the shirts of the time competed in colors and prints, each more original than the last.

We also remember the high-waisted jeans, the big cotton sweatshirt, the overalls, the cap worn on the side, but above all, the street and practical leaning of the 90’s .

What clothes to choose to get into 90s fashion?

If, fortunately, not everything has to come out of the space-time closet, a few pieces are coming back in force. Focus on the clothes to (re-)adopt to be in the 90’s trend.

Denim

Jeans, jacket, skirt, dress, overalls… Wear all the jeans you want ! Denim is the absolute must-have in 90s fashion . We even dare to go for a total denim look with jeans and a jacket. We also wear an XXL sweater in our high-waisted jeans.

Crop tops

Icon of super-models and super-stars of the 90’s, the crop-top will add a discreet vintage touch to your 21st century outfits . Pair it with a skirt or high-waisted pants for elegance.

XXL shoes

Between “combat-shoes” (shoes inspired by those worn by American GIs) and dad shoes, the trendy 90s pair is imposing . Big sole, and high upper, the XXL shoes will be your 90s guarantee .

The track pants

Do you remember the slightly shiny jogging pants with pressure on the side? It’s time to bring it out. We admit, it’s difficult to be chic in track pants. If you want to try it, bet on a current 90’s “inspired” model .

The checked shirt

Another iconic piece from the 90s that is making a comeback is the slightly grunge checkered shirt to wear open over a T-shirt with a logo or a slightly flashy color: burnt orange, mustard etc… or simply with a white ribbed tank top .
